Hello everyone!
I am finding myself in a very strange situation.. GreenStar Energy has been my energy supplier for a couple of years and after getting the worst service of my life and after addressing the Ombudsman twice I finally managed to switch to a different provider. My issue is that GreenStar produced the final bill, I've set up a payment plan with them but they failed to take the money from my account. I chased them to give me a confirmation in writing of the fact that a payment plan was set up as I was sure they will fail somehow to proceed as they are supposed to, they confirmed that the plan is active and five months later they still haven t managed to start taking money from my account, based on the payment plan we agreed on.
My question is, is there a chance I wake up next year with an collection agency at my door, or with a bad rating on my credit score, although they are responsible for not following through with the payment plan? I m tired of chasing them to pay them but in the same time I do not want this situation to affect me further, as I am preparing to get a mortgage and a good credit score is very important for us. Considering the bill was issued correctly but the just failed to take the money, am I still protected by the back dating bills law? In this situation, are they entitled to harm my credit rating or sell my debt to a collection agency?
Thank you in advance for your help,
Alexa
