Hi,
Im looking for some advice on my potential redundancy situation. I am currently ‘at risk’ having gone through consultation no1 and I have been made aware of a skills matrix that my managers boss will complete and score my two colleagues and I on. It features various skills to determine who is safe and who will be made redundant.
My issue is that the skills we are being scored on appear unfair. Half of the skills are not applicable to the job I do and are merely skills our management would now like me/my colleagues to have moving forward, these account for 50% of the score. Two of my colleagues have some experience in these skills areas (one because he was the only engineer employed so had to do it and the other who has this new project) but I have not been there long enough to have been given the opportunity to show these skills (project leading/managerial tasks that only get appointed to one person per project and they’re still on the same project from when I started nearly 2 years ago) but I do have experience in these skills from previous employment. So it appears since I cannot score at all on this criteria for this company for 50% of the overall score I am resigned to redundancy.
Do the skills selected for a comparison need to be applicable to the job role at risk?
Thanks in advance, Michael
