CIFAS Marker
Hello,*
I am looking for some advice please, I currently have a first party fraud marker against my name which is showing on my credit file. I wasn't aware that this was even on my credit file until I applied for a credit card directly through my bank. When the application was rejected they advised me why and it was because of this CIFAS Marker they rejected my application.*
The CIFAS marker was placed on by Littlewoods, I had a catalogue with them back in 2016 and ordered 2 items, I moved address and completely forgot anything about it to be honest. All communication with them had been sent to a previous address where I no longer resided, hence not knowing anything about this. I have contacted them and they have stated that they will not remove the marker as it had been placed against me correctly as no payment was ever made.*
This marker is greatly affecting everything at present, mortgage applications, credit card applications etc and it is my only barrier. Does anyone know if there is anything I can do to get this marker removed? Can I pay to have it removed? Is there a specific route I could follow to try and get this removed?*
