I am currently on a fixed term contract and I was informed that they couldn’t offer me a permanent role and but My contract would be extended up until I commence maternity leave in August. I was then told that once I decided I wanted to come back to work (even if it was as early as September/October) they would give me a job.
Just wanted to check if this is ok for them to do? I just felt it implies that there is work there for me but because I’m going on maternity leave (I don’t qualify for SMP from them by the way) they aren’t keeping me on.
