  • No acknowledgement of service

I've received a "Notice of Transfer of Proceedings" and a "Judgement for Claimant".

The judgement states "No acknowledgement of service having been filed it is ordered that the defendant must pay the claimant an amount which the court will decide, and costs. Further directions/arrangements for that decision to be made will be sent to all parties shortly"

I am the defendent; to do with an injury claim on my property (which was closed but the front of the property is where they tripped - unfortunately that part of the land is part of the lease). No insurance at time of accident.

I wasn't aware it was taken to court - the postman sometimes decides to deliver my letters to my neighbour (even though I have a easily accessible post box) and I don't check with my neighbour regularly.

Is there anything I can do at this point? I would've replied to the courts had I known. Is it too late to respond?

    I'd appreciate any help!
