how to remove an old legal charge from the Land registry

There is a 20 year old charge our property. The loan was taken out and paid in full about 20 years ago. We have no paperwork to prove that. . There is also a subcharge to company 2 (company 1 granted this ).*From a company search:* company 1 was dissolved in 1998*and they failed to inform the Land Registry the loan had been paid back. Company 2 is a bank whose name has changed but is still operational. Company 2 was unaware of the charge and is now seeking legal advice. How do we get this these charges removed?*
