Please can somebody help us?
My partner had a serious accident at work in September 2017.
After a 2 week hospital stay, surgery & new medication to take, he returned to work on light duties.
Around 2 months later, he was rushed to hospital again – the new medication had caused a bleed on the brain (stroke) and thus he endured another hospital stay, more time off work, more medical interventions, much more time off work until he was deemed unfit to return permanently.
He instructed a small local company to make a claim on a ‘No Win No Fee’ basis.
After a year and a half this firm decided not to pursue the claim as the other insurers continued to deny liability.
My partner has since contacted other national ‘No Win No Fee’ companies & they were either not interested or didn’t return his phone calls.
My partner, who is 56, is lucky to be alive, but he has lost everything due to this accident. His mobility isn’t great & he is struggling with his mental health due to unemployment. He is unable to claim any benefits as his savings are over the threshold.
His ex-employers need to be held accountable for the accident, and time is ticking.
Would someone take this case on Pro Bono? Or can we pursue this privately; if so – what cost would we be looking at & what steps should we take?
Any & all advice gratefully received.
