  • Ethics and social media policy

    Hi all. I'm new here.

I have an issue at work. An anonymous individual screenshot my fb profile and posted it to the business ethics team with a very badly written letter. Due to this I have been pulled in for a fact finding investigation. It's looking like the ethics team will push for gross misconduct even though I tried not to have any affiliation with the company on any social media platform. The allegations themselves surrounding the posts are unsavoury and if the allegations are found to be be unwarranted then would there be a case for defamation of character. Also. Given the gravity of some of the allegations I believe if the employer thought they were true then I should have been suspended pending the outcome especially given the environment I work in. This has been a very stressful time and I would just like some advice to determine where I stand.

    thanks
