  • Redhawk Legal Admin Fee

    Hi Folks

I see there are various posts about Redhawk legal relating to PPI claims and i had a message saying i was owed £3232 etc and simply reply to receive a no obligation claim pack.

Given that i have always avoided overpriced ad on's as i'm self employed and would never be able to meet the requirements to get money when out of work i wondered where i had been mis sold hence when the pack arrived i put in some of the credit cards i had and sent it back for what i thought is a no obligation search. At no time did i consider myself to be liable for any charges as this was just a "no obligation" search and like their web site states you can then decide yourself how to proceed.

Needless to say i was then sent a letter stating i should take 2 forms of ID to my local Barclays bank for proof of my ID relating to a credit card i could never remeber having and then return what ever the bank gave me together with a signed letter of Authority to them.

This to me sounds like i'm actually doing the work relating to the claim and hence i ripped up the paperwork and sent it back in the prepaid with out signing anything.

Yesterday i received a call stating that unless i go to Barclays and return the signed letter of authority i will be liable to a charge of £150 no doubt + VAT - in accordance with there terms and conditions.

I can not recall ever signing a letter to to enter into any contract or agree to their terms and conditions and i've now sat down and read them from a google search and download. They detail admin fees and state i have the right to cancel subject to 14 days notice but unless they can provide me with a signed copy of anything i previously signed it sounds like there trying to get me to sign up to pay them at least £150 + VAT when i doubt i'm actually due any compensation.

Any advice, i'm sure if i do nothing i will receive a numerous letters and calls threatening bailiffs and court action etc etc to which i usually reply "lets go straight to court" any further correspondence unless direct from a county court relating to this matter will be treated and reported as harrasment

    Thanks
