Hi
early December I was informed I was one of 5 employees being put under consultation due to restructuring. (After 18 years with the company)We were told that there would be 5 new jobs available, all different to our current roles. We had the option to apply for these roles or any other within the organisation across the uk. I advised them on my next consultation meeting that I wouldn’t be applying for any of the new roles or any others in the uk. My reasons being I am part time and these are full time, and the new salary’s do not reflect the responsibilities.
*Now 6 weeks later we are still under consultation, the company keep extending the finish date. And it has come to my attention that four out of the five new roles have been filled ( by external candidates, no one internal got these roles)and job offers gone out as start dates have been told to certain people.*
my question is.. how can the company do that if we are still in consultation?? As my latest communication from work yesterday was it’s still a process they are exploring and doesn’t mean it will go ahead? Even though job offers have been made to the new roles replacing our 5 roles..
we Have another consultation meeting scheduled this week for an update.
Just confusing and very frustrating that people have been recruited for the new roles but we’ve not been officially told were redundant. I’ve asked for a leaving date but been told I can’t have one until we are out of consultation.
i have been off work the last two weeks with stress and anxiety because of this whole situation. I understand it happens and yes I’ve accepted it , it’s just the not knowing of an end date to it is stressing me out.*
Thanks
