Hi, I'm Cally and I moved into a house last August as a lodger. All bills were included and it was pretty good. Or so I thought.*
Christmas arrived and then on New Year's Eve I got a rules and regulations letter from my landlady stating that any extra use of heating by myself would have to be paid for. I immediately stopped using any heating except the timed ones. That's an hour in the morning, school time which is useless to me, and an hour and a half in the evenings but off at nine.*
I put up with that. Then yesterday the landlady asked to speak to me about a really high electric bill and how she needs me to make a contribution to it. I know that it's high because she has an electric oven that is broken and runs hot all the time. It's a double oven too but we can't have only one at a time, they're both on. I've asked her to fix it but she's put it off over and over.*
Finally she's having someone in to look at it but she's "asking" for me to make a contribution to the bill because it's obviously my fault. I only use the oven occasionally and the only other electrical items I use personally are my computer and screen, both quite low in power.
Is there anything I can do?
