Hi Everyone,*
I'm new to the forum so thanks for taking the time to read this.
Basically, my wife has recently helped her Grandfather have his will written by a local solicitor firm. We're really not clued up on the legal requirements and such hence the use of a solicitor.
They've included themselves as an executor of the estate along with my wife, is this common practice? The reason we're querying this is they never mentioned it at the time of the meeting with them and also it's a free service for OAP's with this particular solicitor so we're concerned we've missed some legal loophole in terms of them possibly getting payment after his eventual passing.
Also, he wants my wife to be the sole beneficiary of the will as well as the executor. Is this something that can cause issue especially when he is bypassing his 3 children and going straight to his Granddaughter?
I would like to point out that he doesn't own a lot, he is just absolutely adamant that my Wife must deal with his final wishes and such.
