Hey all - long time since I posted on here, which is probably a good thing!
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I've been messed around by a kitchen fitter who has consistently spun lies about several delays - after taking 50% deposit. He was on mybuilder as a legit fitter which lots of reviews and photos, and looked the part when he came around. However, I called the supplier and they confirm that the guy has lied about the status of the order, for example they guy said he put in the order a month ago, when actually it was last week. Mybuilder have emailed me saying they have closed his account, and he agreed to give my deposit back on the day I finally had enough. He failed to transfer into my account, and I said sorry but any excuses and I will exercise my rights to reclaim via legal action.
I was wondering, what's the process these days? I can see you can make a small claim on line, but prior to that, anything else I need to do?
I successfully won a case against a crooked surveyor years ago, but things may have changed.
Any other recommendations for me as I go about reclaiming over a grand from this guy? This kitchen was something special for my elderly father before Xmas, but that's been pretty much ruined, and I'm out of pocket at a bad time.
Thanks in advance everyone.
