  • RBs ppi

Im looking for some advice regarding PPI from RBS. I had 6 loans with them between the ages of 18 and 23. A lot of these I felt pressured into but being a naive teen cash was king. I was in full time permanent employment at the time and never missed a payment. I vaguely remember one of the loans PPI payment was £60 a month! Fast forward to 2007 and I was made redundant. I went to see the manager of my local RBS to ask how they Payment Protection would assist me. I was basically laughed out of branch as I was going to receive a lump sum from my redundancy so in their eyes could continue to pay loan £700 a month! During this period my mother became ill so I didn’t return straight to full time employment as I had to be her carer. 12 months later after depleting redundancy because of circumstances with my mother I went back to RBS to see if I’d receive any relief on my payment because I paid PPI...........again I was told no. So why on earth sell it me in the first place! Some of the policies were even preloaded. At this point I stopped paying my loan. After missing 3 or so payments the bank said my relationship with them had broken down irretrievably. They wouldn’t accept I should be getting any help even though I’d paid PPI all those years. The debt was passed/sold/assigned to Capquest and I started getting nasty letters late 2008. I arranged a payment plan with them that I couldn’t realistically stick to but I just wanted the letters and calls to stop. I made approx 3 payments to them. I haven’t heard from RBS since 2007 and Capquest in 2009. Recently I put in a claim for PPI against RBS and was awarded £21500. I’m now waiting for money but RBS text yesterday to say.........In a small number of cases they have to check for insolvency and arrears so can’t process payment yet and the are currently trying to source extra information. I’m wondering if anyone has any idea what will happen next? I’m not insolvent in the fact Im not in an IVA or anything similar. I’m not trying to avoid paying any arrears left but was living in hope they’d pay me so I could then negotiate a lower settlement figure with the DCA. Sorry for waffle it’s my first time posting.
