  • Situation with the builder

    Hi Everyone.

Not sure where we need to post this.
We have recently hired a landscaper who agreed to do with turfing and patio for our garden. He finished the turfing and started on patio but didnt finished the patio. He is asking for the money now, which we are reluctant to pay as we know he will not come. We have told him that come we will pay you and you finish the job and we will pay rest.

He did came to talk but not sure what he came for as didnt started the job and told us he will see us in court. There is no contract for this work and we have not paid him the moneys yet. Please advise what shall we do, couple of options we have are:

    1. Pay him for turfing and ask him to finish the patio and we will pay the rest.
    2. Pay him based on what all has been done with deducting the money for what has not been paid.
3 or proceed to legal and get him to finish the work, we are not sure what he is going to put us for.

We are kind of stuck where we have work to be done, and he is not agreeing to do it. Whatever we agreed, he is saying no we never discussed. Please advise.

    Thanks
    Kaps
