Hi, I came to your forum as I was searching for information regarding Parking Fines. I have received a Notice with 'photographic evidence' to say that the driver of the vehicle in the notice is liable for a parking charge of £100 (£60 if you pay in 14 days). The charge relates to a period of parking between 15:20 and 17:39 on the 28th July. The Date of Issue of the Notice is 13th August. The notice says that the maximum permitted stay is 60 minutes and that therefore the authorised stay was exceeded '' in apparent breach of the terms and conditions that are displayed on the signs in prominent places around the site". A friend of mine has been to this site today and has reported that whilst there are signs, they are small and that he had difficulty reading them. The use of the word 'prominent' in this sentence would seem inaccurate. I am assured by the driver that they had a coffee in the Starbucks Coffee shop and then went to eat in MacDonalds, placing two orders that were paid for by credit card and that there were no visible signs in either eating establishment regarding any parking restrictions and the staff did not inform the driver of any parking restrictions.
As the owner of the vehicle, I am not sure how to respond to this allegation or rather, how to appeal. Can you advise?
