In August 2018, I bought a Citroen DS3 (2010) plate from a dealer on HP finance. Within a few days, the seatbelt/airbag fault light started to go off, and the dealer just told me it was normal for citroen cars and it was just loose wiring.
Forward 5 months, the antipollution light flashed on, so I contacted the dealer who told me that I didn't have any extended warrenty on the car, so they wouldn't do anything. I contacted the finance company about the antipollution light and the seatbelt/airbag fault, who said they speak to the dealer, who then miraculously decided they'd look at the car. They changed a coil on it, and returned the car, again advising that the airbag fault wasn't fixable - 2 weeks later and the problem started again. I contacted the finance company again, who they advised that they wouldn't get involved, because it was over 6 months. I returned it to the dealer and they changed another thing.
The car is now not starting, with 3 years still due on the HP finanace. I was wondering if I actually have any rights, on the grounds that the car wasn't fit for purpose when bought?
Thank you in advance.
