  • Civil Recovery Solutions letter

I’ve had a letter from Civil recovery solutions. I was caught taking money from work a few months ago, I was taken to the head office for their own investigator to question me about it, etc. Then police were involved, I went in for a voluntary statement, they didn’t take it any further, was just given a caution & said that as long as I don’t get into trouble within next year then it won’t be on my record.
When interviewed by police, my workplace only had evidence for £400-500. I’ve had a CRS letter today saying the claim value is £2,502.40 or a settlement figure of £2,252.16.
What do I do from here? If I deny liablility for that much, what would happened? And if this was to be taken to court or whatever, what would usually happen, how does it affect me/my record? (As I already stated I’ve dealt with police in terms of this, but would I have to go through that again if they were to go through all their old cctv or something?)
ive got no idea of the process of this & how I can go about reducing that figure right down. Thank you.
