  • Hello, please help 😁

    Hi,

i previously moved out of my in laws property and have carried on paying the gas and electric for them until the property is sold. I changed my billing address to my new property straight away.
Last month, my direct debit was cancelled on error at the bank so I asked them to send me a mandate to reset this.
Nothing has come to my new address and then my mother in law had received a letter addressed to the occupier which contains my account information, including my balance etc. they have also escalated this (very quickly imo) to debt collection which she now knows about. Is this a breech of data protection and what can I do about it? I'm so embarrassed but had they sent the letter to my correct address (which they have always done since I moved) this would have been paid. I had no idea this was going on. Any ell would be much appreciated as they have basically gave my account and financial info to the owner( my mother in law)
