Suspension

hello

i need some advice on being suspended from work and as I am on a zero hours contract if they have to pay me.
The procedure says suspension is for gross misconduct or a serious allegation. The letter I have doesn't mention either if these but states uts due yo my perfirmance and behaviour. So can they do this?
