6 years or more ago my son opened a natwest bank account. One day he lost his wallet with all his ID in it.
A week or so later the bank cash machine swollowed his card and then informed him his account had been closed down.. We were given no explanation.
Years later we now have tried opening bank accounts. They are accepting him and he passes the credit check. But a couple of days later they text to say they are suspending his account to avoid fraud. My son is very upset as he's not working at the moment and job seekers allowance have told him he has to switch to universal credit, but he has to have his own bank account.
Job seekers let him put it in my account. But universal credit is different. He's desperate for advice, he will be penny less and homeless.
Can you advise us of what to do please. I don't know whether going to citizens advice would help. I just don't know what to do
