He should take the rest of those losers with him.

Jeremy Clarkson is so right - they aren't hungry, they don't want it enough (if at all) and not screaming the National Anthem (like rugby players do) speaks volumes.

Very sad imo and I am far from a footy fan.

              England 1 Germany 4

The right team(as I have told my work colleagues all week) won the game.

              Argentina 3 Mexico 1

Quarter Final is Argentina v. Germany
              Very difficult to call.

With regards to the England game. The dodgy linesman score is now

              England 1 Germany 1
Let us remember that we are now even and that in reality we didn't have the quality to win the game. I did not believe England would win the world cup this year. It's time to change the way we play defence(if we can work out a definition).

Here's hoping that England win the dodgy linesman game!! That might help after losing the game yesterday.

Sorry, I mean lose the dodgy linesman game!

Phew, almost dropped myself in it there.

Seriously, if England can harness the individual talents they have a plenty they won't go far wrong.

Plans need to be made now to build not just for 2014, but more importantly, 2018, when its likely to be on your home soil. The League set up is possibly to blame- look at the lack of talent emerging from under 21 set up- they rarely get games in Premier League.

Yes I agree and just look how many players that play in our Premier League actually play for other countries all over the world. We are definately short of English players coming up through the ranks and short of our own talent.

I understand that several of the ex Footballers have their own training academies but that is going to take years before some budding players emerge.

We will now see what this Football window has to offer starting this coming week. I work with a Football agent and I know that they try and work with the young players in the lower age groups and filter them into clubs when they are old enough.

Also, I don't know if anyone else picked on this, when Capello was being interviewed after the match he had a translator and never ansered questions directly. It just makes me wonder if there was a communication problem with him and the team?

Capello fronts it. He has several staff in there for the coaching- is it Stuart Pearce? (excuse spelling please and correct me if wrong).

Its reported that his English is not too hot but its also something that he can use to his advantage.

Having a translator takes some of the heat out of the situation and lets him think a bit longer- he's not daft.

I like how he said he won't resign. I would not either if I had his salary and conditions- he'll walk off with a fortune if he's sacked.

I think it is called 'selective hearing'. He seems to understand some questions perfectly well and the more 'controversial' shall we say questions he appears to 'struggle' with.

With regards to Capello, I think we need to ask if our players actually know what their job is. Terry, Upson, A Cole, Johnson....they are called defenders. Yesterday they forgot what their job was.

Anyway, who cares but hopefully Capello keeps his job and makes the necessary changes.

And that ends the 2nd round of matches. Today and tomorrow there is no football whatsoever on the telly. Phew!

4 South American Teams, 3 European and 1 African.

The way that draw has panned out, it could feasibly be an all-South American affair come the semis !!
