  • Purchasing probate document from the .gov site - how confidential is it?

    Hello,
due to an ongoing family dispute (don't ask!) I would like to purchase a copy of the probate document for the estate of a family member. However, I am a bit concerned about if the person who (claims they were) the executor would somehow be able to find out about this - they can be a bit volatile.

My understanding is that, since it is a public document available to anyone they wouldn't be notified by the government or anything like that, but that they would be able to access that info if they got a court order (I highly doubt they would actually do this).

    Is that right?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can shed some light on this.
