Hi, can someone shed some light on DWP calculations? I did start another thread which goes into the situation a bit more but we are just at the beginning of looking into probate following my Mum passing on. We have just applied for a search to see if there is a will so unsure if we will be dealing with probate or applying for a letter of administration. We are expecting the DWP to make a claim for pension credits & possibly housing benefit. The application is not for a huge amount & I am getting concerned over how much of an overpayment they will take as we are already racking up expenses. I’m trying to get a picture of how much they will claim for but I don’t know how far they can go back is it for the duration that she would have been in receipt of pension credits? I’ve read something about 6 years but wasn’t specifically relating to probate. Can anyone advise please it’s causing a lot of worry & we haven’t even started the application yet......
