Debt on old Will

Mum has made new Will not mentioning an outstanding debt on a mirror Will by my parents. Mum has now died and excluded this debt which had not been repaid by a beneficiary. Can executor of parents original Will ask for proof debt has been repaid. He is not executor of mum's Will.
