  • Internet provider has marked my land, presumably for digging

I’ve come home from work today to find my land has been painted with bright fluorescent green paint which leads from a cover on the pavement which clearly states it’s for Internet and cable TV, to my neighbours house. I have not been given any notice or warning about this. I have searched on the Internet and it would appear that the utility or in this case the Internet company have to give me notice, but I’m not sure it’s an open and shut case, because I have to grant access to my neighbours (they live in a courtyard, and I live in a tower with an arch underneath it, and they have to drive their cars under my property to get to their own properties. They collectively own the courtyard, but I own the piece of land under the tower. There is no public right of way, it’s just access for the neighbours).
My concern is that lots of other services for my house run underneath that piece of land and it’s listed, I don’t want the Internet company inadvertently damaging anything and leaving me with a clear up bill. I’ve asked my neighbour about this and she just says they’re only going to do minimal work to install a box. But that will involve digging out the land … she doesn’t see it as being a problem .
Where do I stand on this?
