Hello, I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice if they have been in a similar situation to myself -
I VT'd my car with Fiat Finance back in December 2017, at inspection I agreed to £150 damage which was over wear and tear. The car was in a good condition, the charges were for small scuffs to wheel trims an bumper. I was told that Fiat would decide if they would go ahead with charging me and to expect an invoice a month or so later if so. I didn't receive anything so I presumed the charges had been cancelled by Fiat.
I have just had an invoice though, over 5 months later for the £150 + £251 excess milage.
Is there a time limit on when I can be invoiced for these charges?
Also do I need to pay the excess milage? I have read mixed reports of what is enforcable. I was on a 5000 miles per year contract, which meant my allowed milage was 13,343, my total milage was 17,541 in 2.5 years.
Thanks in advance for your help!
