Hi folks. Having read a few previous threads on this subject it seemed that starting a new one was the way to go!! :tinysmile_twink_t2:
My story? Quite a long one, so please pull up a sandbag and listen intently !
Several weeks ago my car was rear ended by a rather large HGV which resulted in one written off car and one slightly bruised driver (me).
I decided to use a no win no fee accident management company as the repair shop had this option available to me. After a couple of weeks i received a letter asking me to attend a medical examination at a hotel in Lincoln.
I drove to the appointment in my loan car and parked in the hotel car park. booked in at the hotel reception , had my medical, left the hotel and life was good (except for the bad bits!).
About a week ago i received a parking fine notice from "Parking Eye" who told me i had been pictured (pictures included) parking in the hotel car park for 57 minutes,
The "fine" was £100, reduced (?) to £60 if paid within 14 days of the letter date....gee thanks!
Obviously i was not amused!!.
I called the insurance people who said it was nothing to do with them.I called the hotel and got as much help!.
I am annoyed as i was asked to attend the appointment to see a doctor appointed by the insurance people in a hotel that they had rented a conference room in!
Apparently there are notices "all over the car park" (the hotels words not mine), but as there was no mention of the parking eye system mentioned in either the letter for the appointment nor was any reference to this system by the fella on the reception when i booked in, i was in ignorant bliss of my situation!!
To say that i am feeling a little peeved having my car wrecked, my body bruised and now £100 bill just for following advice, would be a slight under statement :-(
Advice please?
P.S i am about 5 days into the "pay early " period as i type this...
TIA
