Hi.
My husband parked in a private carpark for Howdens Joinery on an industrial estate. He is a joiner and was collecting materials for a job. He was a regular customer and often the tablet to input the details was stolen or broken.
He was unable to enter his registration that day as the tablet wasn't working correctly again.
We never got a parking eye letter at the time just one from their collections agents DCBL several weeks after the actual date of the notice.
We immediately requested and received a letter from.Howdens Joinery confirming my husband was indeed a patron of the shop at that date and time but for some reason his details were not registerd by the tablet.
DCBL said they would take the information we had provided back to Parking Eye and they would decide if and how they would proceed. That was over a year ago. The actual date of the charge was January 2021.
As we never heard anything back we assumed all was sorted but last week we received another letter to my parents house - we now live in the Republic of Ireland but used my parents address whilst we were houseless for a while.
What should we do moving forwards? £170 is a lot of money and as we parked correctly feel it's unfair to make us pay it.
Thanks for any help.
Becky
