Recently received a number of PCNs from Smart Parking for entering the wrong registration in a car park operated by them. I use the gym from this car park and entered my number plate wrong in the gyms parking authorisation machine each time I visited. My initial research left me feeling slightly hopeless as it looks like a long slog to get around this. Just saw the following article:

and I was wondering if this will apply to my situation (as I did not need to purchase a ticket or anything, just enter my registration once I was in the gym). Already requested the parking details from the gym as I'm hoping they have a list which shows when I entered my registration and that it was only one letter wrong.*
If the new change applies to me, what should my next steps be?
