  • Hillingdon council CCTV oriented PCNs for number of days

Hi experts, desperately need some help and guidance.

My wife's have been driving to and fro from work and home using a particular route for nearly 4+ years.

Since last year or so apparently there is a restriction (prohibited right turn sign) on her route and a new sign posted right in front of the turn as per pictures sent to us in PCN. This road used to be private road without any restrictions and its been year + they introduced restrictions where you cant turn into that road on specific hour of the day (morning am peak time).

My wife's saying she had always been taking that turn and in the mornings like many other drivers and accepts while she did see the sign she did not think it was for the road as there were so many drivers taking that turn as always so she continued as well. She accepts that she should not have even if others did.

Issue we have now is that we have received in total 6 PCN for consecutive days. Few pictures of tickets attached.

Pictures are taken using an approved CCTV which has been recently approved and put up to penalise car drivers taking that turn.

Our appeal to council (Hillingdon Council) have been rejected for all tickets. We did not appeal but we stated that this was innocent mistake by my wife (my wife wrote the email to parking appeals email because she drives the car although I am the registered keeper) and we requested council officer to reconsider because she is always in rush after school runs to make to clinic in time by 9am and didnt register the change in route restrictions. This is rejected because those are not mitigating circumstances and all PCNs are enforceable. 6*£65 (reduced rate) is what we are staring at now.
Do we have any rights or anyway we can do anything? we can not afford to pay such a hefty fine so please help.

As soon as the first post was received on 11th May, she stopped taking that turn as she realised the mistake but all tickets following that are of various days leading upto the date of 11th came through one by one covering period between end of April and 11th May totalling 6 different PCNs for same offence being committed on those 6 different days. Reality is she has been making that mistake since the no right turn was introduced but only recently CCTVs have been installed from looks of it.

A couple of PCN letters attached.

Please help. Many thanks in anticipation.
