  • Private unadopted road question

    Hi there,

    Hope everyone is well,

I live on a private road where the access to our homes is from an adopted road. It is a right of way to our homes but nobody has ownership of that road, we share the maintenance of the road equally. It also doesn't exist on land registry records.

Recently I have been having some parking issues with a neighbour where he has been blocking my right of access and things have gotten pretty ugly, i've reported it to the police and finally they have started working with the local council to sort this mess out.

I have been told by another resident that as its a private/unadopted road the council are powerless to instill law and order and to stop my neighbour continuing his nuisance behavior? is this true
