My boyfriend and I bought a house together in 2010. He paid one sixth of the deposit I paid the rest.
He lived in an HMO which he owned with a friend some distance away.
He started seeing someone else within a year and we split. He agreed it was my home and we agreed that I would buy him out. I got a mortgage offer and some savings together in order to buy him out.
He allowed the mortgage offer to run out.
He bought another property with the other girl and also still owned the HMO.
i left the property and after struggling to pay the mortgage payments got a tenant via an agent who lived there for one year. He got in touch and objected to me renting it out.
i have paid the mortgage for eight years and he has contributed nothing. He has occasionally asked for money loans from the property which I have ignored.
i finally, after threatening him with court, sold the property in February.
He now owns a very expensive flat in London and has split with that woman coercing her into a huge payout. He has sold the HMO in 2017.
He now wants to take me to court to get a 50% share of the funds from the property.
Will any of this be taken into account in court? What sort of solicitor do I need? Which acts or parts do I need to use?
