Within the next year I will be leaving the UK and I have started to consider what I need to do. I was rather disturbed at what appear to be some of the obligations that I have to fulfill. eg I have to notify the TV licencing authority that I am leaving the country. That I have to give a forwarding address to my local authority.
I have to say that I am not leaving the country voluntarily having been told by the Government to leave the country.
What am I legally obliged to do and who should I notify. I accept that I am obliged to do certain things, cancel gas and electricity contracts, telephone etc. Re-register for council tax. But what I find objectional is that I am expected to provide a forwarding address. What if I dont actually know or have a forwarding address?
What will happen if I just leave without providing an address. Are they going to extradite me for failing to provide a forwarding address?
