  • Letting agent withheld funds!!!

    Hi guys,

I have recently parted ways with my letting agent due to their incompetence and lack of communication throughout their time managing my property.

Having looked through my bank statements, it has transpired that the agent has missed several payments during the management of the property from 2016-2020 totalling £3120.

After months of emailing and calling the agent, to no avail, they responded with an email acknowledging that several payments had gone missing but they did not know how this had happened.

The agent also offered a remedy by way of monthly payments of £200, however, they also stated that they are about to go into administration so I am extremely doubtful that these payments will be made.

I have requested that the payment be made in full.

These rental payments were initially made to the agent by the local council and should have been paid directly to my bank account.

It has also transpired that the agent never visited the property to ensure it was being maintained. A service which was supposed to be covered by the £60 per month management fee.

Coincidentally, I have paid tax on the amount that is owed and also suffered financial loss as this money could have been invested.

I would like claim back all monies owed with the aim to recoup paid management fees.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
