False accusations. 5 Years ago the local authority exaggerated a false accusation and closed my business and stopped me seeing any children (my grandchildren included) The police closed the case with NFA but the local authority continued with threats to have my grandchild removed from their parents if I am allowed access to them. I sold my house and funded a finding of fact in the family court to clear my name, with the backing of my child. The local authority joined the case with their care order. I was successful and no findings were found and the authority were to leave me and my family alone and there are to be no restrictions on me and any child. A private investigation followed with fault against the authority and recommendation of changes in procedure. An ombudsman investigation followed and found the authority wrong on many points and ordered apologies to be sent to me and my family. A minimal amount of £500 and £250 were ordered by the ombudsman to be paid by Jan 2020 to myself and family members. I now want advice on claiming compensation and costs for the 5 years they have delayed closure on this case causing stress, anxiety and fear. I have far more to add but it is difficult to write and I would like to speak to a legal adviser.
