  • Working Part time with 2 position

I wish someone could advise me regarding my present situation. I used to work full time as Customer Service, and used to help my colleague doing the accounts but when he resigned I was obliged to do it, and ended up having two roles. For me to be able to cope up with it I used to take home my work . The contract I signed is only the Customer Service) ,After my maternity leave I decided to work 24 hours only but my workload and the contract remains the same. I kept on complaining but they wanted me to carry on with my job, last August a memo was released stated that I will handle Finance temporarily, Three weeks ago I emailed our HR saying that my workload is unsustainable and if they can possibly hire someone ( a regular employee) who will solely deal with finance as I cant cope with my job as it is demanding.
It was not granted because our sale is not that high enough to be able to pay additional staff, the HR requested me to list all my responsibilites, how many clients I serve a day, how many phone calls to I answer, etc, which until now I have not answered yet because I feel that working five hours /day for them seems to be very long. (answering emails , filing- different from what the part time is doing , reconciliation of receipts, calling clients. etc.) There is a part timer who comes to do the filing, updating of ledger , doing backlogs because I was on maternity leave for six months . These are the only things she can do at the moment because the time is not enough as well. She just realised how my workload is too much having a part-time position . Our company is big with several branches abroad . I am so stressed , sometimes I am in the verge of not doing the accounts at all and leave it. and walk away . I am undecided to file a grievances on my employer because I'm thinking that it will add up to my stress .
Can I just leave my additional role behind and not to do it, my employer is based abroad unaware of our employment law.
If I decide to file grievances , what is the procedure? and what will happen after this. Can you please advise me what is the best way to deal with this. I am decided to resign to stop the abuse. I say this also because when I was on my maternity leave I was forced to work because my colleague went on holiday , attend nonsense meetings , clients used to call me because they know my personal mobile number, although I politely mentioned that Im on leave and call the office instead, etc. I know that there is a 10 days Keep in touch days but I went beyond over this. I don't want to end up unemployed but I don't think I don't have the option . I am actively seeking other job prospects , in fact I already submitted few resume and on line applications. Thank you
