  • Rent repayment Order

My landlord issued the s21 notice to me in May. Since then, he repeatedly used verbal threats and pressured me to “move out immediately”. He threatened me that he’d report to the Home Office of my character, as I am staying in the UK on a visa. I felt very uncomfortable to stay, so I moved out in a very short time after I’ve an offer accepted on a rental property. I feel unfair that I was pressured to move out.

Does verbal threatening count as harassment/ illegal eviction? If so, can I apply for a Rent Repayment Order, or claim compensation for emotional distress from him? Do I have to use a lot of money to achieve these?

    TIA.
