I issued a claim form using Moneyclaim online, ticking the box to say that I would send particulars to follow. I served both the claim form and the particulars on the defendant company's registered address. I then sent in an N215 form.
Some days later, the court sent me a copy of the defence, and an N9B with a part admission. Also there was a new address for service. A few days after that, the N215 was returned saying I had failed to fill in a "valid address". The address was, of course, the registered address - complete with post code. The court received the defence the day after I posted the PoC and the day before deemed service of the PoC.
As a precaution, I have re-served the PoC at the new address, but this is now well outside the 14 day limit.
But was the court correct to return the N215? Surely that just certificates that I served on the address given, not that it was the wrong address. Of course at the time I served I couldn't have known any better as to the correct address to use.
Thanks....
