  • Lowell’s again claim form help

So I received a letter from Lowell’s regarding a debt I didn’t recognise from 2014 so I replied with a standard prove it letter and heard nothing for months only to say they would investigate, I then received a copy of a credit agreement and statement of payments I’d made, so confirming that this was an old provident loan for £2000 I never remember borrowing that from them I believe it was rolled over loans which I had with them for several year dating back to 2007 So according to the statement I’d paid a total of £1980 of a £2000 loan so basically the debt is just interest totalling £1620. I emailed them and said that I would be investigating this and seeking advice which I did and logged a formal complaint with provident via resolver which is due to escalated to the FCA for irresponsible lending in a matter of days provident have still not replied. I asked Lowell to hold any action for 30 days. But today I have received a court claim form with Lowell adding even more interest and court costs etc. I have to date never received anything from provident no default nothing just the Lowell’s letters and copies of letters they apparently sent me ( I’ve been st the same address for 7 years ! ) Obviously I will acknowledge the claim today but I want to try to defend this, could some help as to what I need to do next
    Many thanks

Having sent the SAR and CPR off I’m now thinking I should be writing my defence, I’ve looked at the templates on here and I’m not sure what I should be including as there are 2 main things to my defence but they read as though I’m contradicting myself, so the first is I never remember borrowing £2000 from provident as far as I can see they don’t loan that much ! Lowell sent me a statement with almost £2000 of payments made and just my name at the top and some letters when they purchased the debt and a handwritten agreement, with the amounts and the interest. None of which I have ever received until recently, any way they feel they have proof of debt. I did have a loan with them but I believed this was settled, I have to date never heard from provident since the last payment in September 2013.
So I also back at the end of March submitted a formal complaint for unfair lending as having had multiple rolled over loans from 2007 with provident and basically I was living off payday loans to pay bills etc. This has now been escalated to FCA as no response from provident in the specified 8 weeks time frame.
please help as I really don’t know what to put in the defence
        thanks in advance
