You're welcome.
I’ve had my fair share of debts over the years, and like you my first thought was to protect the children when a claim dropped on the mat. I’m less worried now because I can always instruct ‘myself’ (i.e. my firm) if something nasty happens
Lowells should have had the credit agreement before they issued the claim but I’d be surprised if they did. This means they’ll have to approach Lloyds which can take time. Meanwhile the court timetable is ticking so let’s see what happens.
Make sure you send that CCA Request by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery and include the £1 fee.
What is the Claim Issue Date so you don’t miss any deadlines?

postal order from the post officeOriginally posted by Edwards8701 View PostHow I do I include the £1 fee as I don't have a cheque book, do I just add a £1 coin in the envelope?

Debt is like any other trap, easy enough to get into, but hard enough to get out of.
It doesn't matter where your journey begins, so long as you begin it...

Good to hear you acknowledged the claim okay. So today you should send the CCA request to the claimant and a CPR 31.14 request to the solicitors ( I missed your particulars of claim but the request should ask for documents mentioned in it - likely contract/ agreement, assignment notice and possibly default notice ) ...
Your defence will be due around 24th May ( you can check in the check dates link - add 33 days to issue date ) - so keep an eye on that date as you will need to file defence ( or arrange an extension) whether or not you hear back from the claimants.
It it is also a good idea to send a subject access request to the original creditor ( Lloyds ) for all data held on yourself.
Im just moving your thread into the right forum and then the links to letters will be top right ( or if you're on mobile, below)
