  • Lowell Bullies

So here's the query, Lowell have tried twice unsuccessfully to take me to Court for an old old catalogue Debt that they have been unable to prove and that was statue barred. The latest Court date was Dec 19th 2017 when it was dismissed unless Lowell could prove the debt and they had until Feb 28th 2018 to do so however, they then wrote to both the Court and myself with a Notice of Discontinuance.
So leading up to the Dec 19th 2017 date, I requested all the information asking for the Debt to be proved however, Lowell were unable to provide this however, what they did do was send me copies of 'witness statements' (twice which were different) which they were allegedly going to or had sent to the Court. These were quite lengthy and could have been the tipping point for someone less confident or vulnerable and both included a covering letter requesting contact to arrange a payment plan to avoid Court however, I knew they had no case therefore was confident it would thrown out although all in all, it was quite a stressful time.
My question therefore is, should they have tried this bullying tactic, are they allowed by law to do this and is there anything that I can do to 'bully' them??

Thanks in advance for any advice.
