  • Retail Loss Prevention Court Claims

Some one asked a while back if RLP brought court claims in their own name - and although we know they are acting on behalf of the stores in sending letters to customers and shouldn't be bringing claims in their own name, a number of the letters appeared to intimate they would bring their own court action if you didn't pay up.

So this just confirms that no, they don't. Any court claims for the 'retail loss prevention' charge have to be brought by the retailer themselves. We haven't heard of any proceedings being brought through the court since the Oxford case back in 2012. ( http://www.legalbeagles.info/forums/...gment-09-05-12 )
