  • RLP civil recovery

Last month I was stopped in a uk department store for shoplifting. I was given a lifetime ban and my details were taken. Strangely security did not know some of the stuff in my bag was from their store when they stopped me.
I got a letter for civil recovery requesting the amount for products I’d taken (which they didn’t realise at the time was from their store). I’m assuming that after I left security went through the footage as they’ve calculated the amount taken.
is it likely they’ll take me to court? The amount taken was just over £100. Altogether they’re asking for £350.
