Hello,
My 3 year old son has been attending a private nursery school this last year but has just recently been offered a free place at our local primary school. As soon as this happened, I wrote to his existing school to inform them he would not return to that school after the Summer holidays. I assumed that the 2 month plus between now and the start of the Autumn term was ample notice but I have just recived a letter from them saying I should have given them notice a full term in advance in April as per the terms and conditions I signed on registration and they have consequently sent me an invoice for the full fees next term. The invoice states payment of £1,950 must be made within 14 days. As this is a popular school with a waiting list for some schooldays, I am surprised and upset that they choose to charge me this fee when I am sure they will easily find another child to fill some if not all of my son's allocated school days. I don't want to have to pay that full amount yet fear this escalating to debt collection agencies or ccj. Any advice?
Thanks!
