  • Car in garage for almost 7 weeks now

Hello everyone, I am after some advice as I am losing my mind.
On 11th of September I took my car to a local specialist garage to fix a problem with the suspension, when I got there they were happy to help me and claimed that the problem usually take a couple of days to fix. I asked them if I need to pay anything in advance and they told me not to worry as I have a RAC warranty they will deal with everything for me, the only thing that I might have to pay will be for the diagnostics, they've done 2 and I paid for them. On the diagnostic I had only 2 fault codes related to the suspension.
I phoned them up the following week and they ignored my call, I went there and they claimed they are trying to find out exactly what the problem is before changing anything, I told myself that this makes sense and I can wait another week even though they did not provided me with a courtesy car.
Fast forward 4-5 weeks they did not give me any sort of updates and ignore my calls/messages, when I went to ask again what's happening with the car they told me that they tried to change one of the ECU's and the sat nav gave up. I asked how's that possible as that was working fine when I left it with them and there were no fault codes on the 2 diagnostics they done, to which he told me that if I insult him or his ability to work I should leave as he is the expert and I shouldn't question him, I have no words.. they asked me for another 2400 pound to replace the head unit but I cannot ask what went wrong. As I was getting frustrated and fed up I paid 3300 pounds for the invoice and I was told they will order the parts, I also found out that they took the car to a different garage.
I am not sure what else to do.. I tried to contact them every day this week and I also texted them on they're FB page and while they did read my message they did not answer. I feel bullied and lied to, I was told that I should take legal action against them but I have no idea where to start, I do have copies of the diagnostics they've done and I can also get the call logs proving that they ignored my calls and messages, Should I just deal with it and hope to get some money back from RAC? Do I have any chance of taking them to small claim court?
