I don't have much time right now but I do remember reading in Lifestyle's T&Cs that they may pass on some claims to a couple of different companies acting as it's agents but I can't remember if Synergy was one of them. I would take a look here http://www.docstoc.com/docs/13310751...festyle-Claims

When did you sign and return the documents?
Synergy were formally Gravity who are no longer. There was no contract with Synergy. Gravity were listed on Money saving experts forms. Is not Gravity formerly a Carl Wright company?

When I had not heard anything from lifestyle for a long time, I phoned the number on my paperwork and Synergy
answered and told me that they had taken over from lifestyle. Not long after this I was paid out a claim and paid synergy the fee.

Ok having re-read your posts, you originally signed with Lifestyle/Money Claiming Experts and you have now been sent documents to sign by Synergy which you have not signed, is that right?

If so, unless Lifestyle's T&Cs state that your claim may be passed on to Synergy, you don't have any contractual obligations to Synergy until you sign their letter of authority, shich is entirely optional.

I thought that the lifestyle forms from 2010 that arrived with the synergy invoice was synergy backing up thier 30% charges

So are Synergy invoicing you for another claim? If so they have no right to do so as they have definately not ''taken over from Lifestyle Claims''.

No your contract which you say you signed with MCE states that your contract would cover them as well as gravity and it does not state anywhere that synergy would be entitled to 30% as Exc has already stated which concurs with my thoughts, you do not have a contract with synergy unless you have signed a document which confirms that you agreed to this.

Looks like Gravity Solutions was disolved on 8th March 2013 http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/lt...cial-solutions

                  Re: lifestyle claims ppi

Having now seen the documents that Jim sent to Tuttsi, this is all quite simple.

The original agreement with Money Claiming Experts only grants authority to Legal Redress Ltd and Gravity Financial Solutions to handle the claim.

Synergy Financial Solutions or any of their trading names registered with MOJ (Mortgage Justice, Backto88 Claims, Retro Claims) are not mentioned so the MCE contract Jim has does not bind him to Synergy in any way.

Finally and most importantly the Synergy ''Referral from Lifestyle Claims'' letter Jim received in January clearly implies that Jim does not have a contract with Synergy where it says ''please can you sign our Terms of Business to confirm that we have a contract to continue''.

So I would advise Jim to register a complaint to consumer@claimsregulation.gov.uk.(attaching the 3 documents he sent Tuttsi with his personal information included) about his personal information being held and used by a third party (Synergy) that he has never consented to.

Then he needs to contact Synergy saying no thanks to their offer to handle his claim and advise them that they have breached the Data Protection Act and he has complained to the MOJ acccordingly.

                      Hi Jim
It was a long journey for us to Burton on Trent and we were in a two hour meeting, so very tired.

I have left with the MOJ/TS the letter and the letter of authority that you signed. I have bought to the attention of the MOJ/TS that I noticed that the MOJ authorisation number for Gravity is exactly the same as Synergy. The MOJ were very surprised and are going to look into this and also the fact that Gravity have been disolved which they were unaware of. I did unfortunately was not able to point out that the letter from Synergy was dated Jan13 some almost 3 months after Lifestyle went into administration and Gravity had not been disolved at that time. However, we have the contact now with the Manager and I have her card so will be in contact with her in a few days to ask regarding Synergy and whether they have a right to invoice you or not as it appears that from the MOJ's prospective that the case files that Lifestyle had were assignable, whether this was the case with your situation still remains unsolved.

Exc suggested a complant to the MOJ consumer@claimsregulation.gov.uk is this where you sent it? as you said in your post that you had sent the complaint to Synergy.... please confirm

If ever you write to Synergy do not sign with your usual signature as these companies have been know to copy signatures.

Hi Tuttsi, I did email my complaint to the MOJ at the email address shown above and sent a letter to synergy. however I did use my usual signature, but they already have this as its on some of the documentation they have.
Thank you for taking the time to bring up my case personally.

Just on this, there is no issue as to whether Lifestyle assigned Jim's contract to Synergy - they didn't. The question over the assignment of Lifestyle's contracts only applies to Redhawk. Jim doesn't owe Synergy anything providing he doesn't sign the letter of engagement that they sent him.

I did some further research last night on the MOJ website and Gravity does not show up as ever having been authorised by the MOJ under this name.
