    lifestyle claims ppi

hi we went with lifestyle claims for our ppi we did not hear anything till tues 18th dec 2012 when we had a letter from redhawk legal saying that lifestyle claims went bust and they took over the company. they sent us a form to fill in to claim back our money we did not send anything back to the company as we never heard of them. we got paid out from our bank on the 14th dec 2012. then we had another letter off redhawk to say we owe £600 for their services. why should we pay someone who we never used do we pay them or not as we went through lifestyle claims.

This is a standard response that is in relation to the lawfulness of Redhawk chasing you for payment of their invoice as technically Sharma were wrong in law to sell the ongoing claims to Redhawk as Sharma (and Lifestyle) were not authorized to conduct claims management activity at the point they did, and passing on claims or details of claims is an activity one must be authorized to conduct.

Well, no response from Redhawk, so I've sent the MOJ an email to inform them.
    Received the following response:

    "Dear *****

Thank you for your email. Your case has been referred to an investigation officer for further investigation. I suggest that you seek further independent legal advice on this matter. You may find it useful to contact the Citizens Advice Consumer Service"

I know they suggest seeking independent legal advice, but for what purpose? My S75 claim is being looked in to, I haven't received anything else from either Redhawk or the Debt Collection agency. As far as I'm concerned they've backed off and left me alone? :tinysmile_hmm_t2:

I actually sent my letter of complaint via post and email on 11th October, copying the MOJ in as previously mentioned. I'm curious as to why the email mentioned a 28 day time period and requested I contacted the MOJ again if I do not receive a response on or before 9/11/13?
I think they're referring to step 2 in the link I gave you that they have 4 weeks to give you a final response or ''an explanation as to why they have not yet resolved your complaint and an indication of when they will next contact you (which must be within eight weeks of your initial complaint)''

Take if from me the MOJ are very keen to hear from Redhawk 'customers' who have not had their complaints dealt with properly or who have been harassed by them or their debt collectors for payment.

Despite the hollow threats of ''court action'' from Redhawk, Universal Collections and their lamentable ''solicitors'', Temple & Co, they have not dared to issue proceedings to a single one of our members because they know full well they haven't got a leg to stand on.

    Re: lifestyle claims ppi

    Hi all,

Just wanted write a quick update in the hope the information might be helpful/reassuring to others.

As it stands, my case is still ongoing and I haven't been able to get a reimbursement as yet. My credit card provider is still investigating the case, but with the much appreciated help from a very kind member of this forum, I've sent them further indesputable evidence which should bring my S75 claim to a satisfactory result.

Like other members have posted here, I too received letters from Redhawk chasing the payment of an invoice they sent me. I then received letters and a (chilling) phonecall from Universal Collections at the end of September/start of October - who wants to receive a phonecall from a Debt Collection company eh?.. I spoke to a member of their team, explained my situation, and as soon as I uttered the words "Lifestyle Claims" he sort of groaned and cut me off mid-sentence, giving me the impression that he was aware of their reputation and what has happened. He even advised me to claim my money back on Section 75 if I hadn't already.

Almost a month later, I still haven't heard back from Redhawk after I sent them an official letter of complaint, which I copied the MOJ into. A member of the Claims Management Regulation Unit at the MOJ sent me an email today to check whether I'd received a reply. Apparently, under the rules that they enforce, a claims management business must have a complaints procedure & send a full written response within 28 days. Not quite sure what happens if I don't hear anything?? (anyone know?)
