    lloyds scums

hi everybody, I am new with leagalbeagles and I believe I have a very interesting case in my hands.
basically I just found out that Lloyds been misleading me, lying to me and pushed me into a loan agreement I have not supposed to have in a first place.
when I started to bank with lloyds I opened a silver account as I have been told there are only 3options to open an account (silver, gold and platinum) last week I found out there is an option of a current account, but because they have not told me this information before, I have been charged 8£/month for having the card even known I have not used 1benefit out of the card -made me go overdrawn several times.

when I have tried to changed my account into student account they canceled my application as I have been overdrawn once in the previous 3month and because I have been in the country only 2years. they told me that if I have got money problems instead of a student account I should take a loan worth 5k. but I refused and walked away.

when the bank realized I had student loan, bursary and even my salary coming into my account they sent me a letter offering the 5k instead of student account once again, but when I went in to ask about the loan I have been told I am not eligible for anything.

In the last 5 months however LLoyds charged me over 1000£ for being overdrawn when the causes of going over my limit were the constantly growing overdraft charges.

this lovely bank pressured me into taking a loan with them and they told me through the phone 'they will be no more charges added to this account' . now its November and because of the overdraft charges I am in debt again. basically they started charging me again which sent me overdrawn and I cannot pay the agreed amount including overdraft charges as I am still a student and work still only part time.

on top of that I am going to be made redundant on the end of this month. I feel I have been robbed, mistreated, lied to and bullied into a corner where is no way out.

I had a meeting with the branch manager but when I arrived the receptionist told me the manager is very sorry but he had to go somewhere and was unable to meet me, therefore I had to talk to a person from the reception.

as I am extremely determined to get all my money back I will appreciate any help from you. also would like to teach lloyds a valuable lesson as I ve seen they are robbing everybody who is opening an account with them.

    thank you

it is illegal to cut off the water however they are pemittedto fit a flow restrictor this means that you wont be able to operate a dishwasher or washing machine but can get drinking water and flushing water .

    Eryca,

I am so sorry. I had totally forgotten I'd said I'd write that letter. I promise I will do it. If you haven't got it by Wendnesday e-mail me on my personal e-mail.

As regards water being cut off I'm sure Di is right - this is illegal. You can't live without water for God's sake. We didn't pay our bill for two yearas despite the threatening letters. Eventually they sent one saying as we hadn't replied they assumed we had moved so were going to cut it off. I replied and said we had not moved so they didn't cut it off. Thankfully all now sorted.

What are you doing about it?

    Hiya hun

Blimey, so sorry to hear that.

When did they turn your water off? Who is your water supply with?

It may be best to arrange a water meter and come to some sort of paying arrangements with them as soon as possible.
Have you been in touch with them?

Check the details below to who supplies your water, I didn't think they were allowed to do this, but have they sent any letters to you previously and give any warnings that they would be switching the water off?

Contact them as soon as poss.

Sorry hun, did you just post and maybe delete the post in regards of the water being cut off?:tinysmile_grin_t:

If so read my post above, and maybe this would be better in another thread in relation of this subject if you've not done so already x

    Hi Eryca,

Firstly thanks Leclerc for the work you've put into this. I received a pm this morning asking me to write another letter which I'll do now in the next couple of days.

It is looking as though there are some charges that can definitely be questioned, and then some other things we can chance our arm on and see how they respond - they can only say yes or no.

I'll post the letter up as soon as I've done it, though I'm working tonight and tomorrow, so it's likely to be Wednesday.

    Caspar!
    xx
