Reading back through their letters they just simply haven't mentioned at all what the debt originally was - so I doubt very much if they know if it was a credit card, current account or loan either xxx

Well done.

Now you wait.... you should get a letter from the court confirming they have received the defence and sent it to the claimant, who have 28 days to reply.

If they do say they wish to proceed you will them receive a N180 allocation/directions form to complete and send back ( just to tell the court when you might be on holiday/ which court you want the hearing at and whether you want to try mediation ).

The you will get a court date from your local court and directions to submit a witness statement.

In betweeny times you might get letters from the claimant so just let us know anything you get xxx

Hi guys, can anyone advise on what to put on the mediation form?
Am I right in thinking that I should decline the offer of mediation on the grounds that Carters haven't supplied me with any info to validate their claim?

never decline mediation - as non disclosure is in your favour i..e. mediation will ask you your side and non disclosure will be noted and then they will say no mediation as Carters failed to disclose documents, and inform court of the fact then the case goes on, and carter if they still cannot disclose the documents then usually do a runner at the last minute before he looses the chance of getting his court fee back.

He hoped you are non the wiser especially if he cannot obtain the documents.

he hopes peeps cave in and he wins by default

recourse to trial, so yes accept.

You will need to have all the documents mentioned in the claim, if they haven't been
supplied the mediator will decline to continue and the claim will be returned to your
local court for directions.
